She has a unique presence and often channels shades of Mariska Hargitay\u2019s Olivia Benson as the musical\u2019s equivalent Katherine Murphy. Yet, despite two songs about it, Saunders\u2019 sexual tension with Willie Stratton, who plays the Elliott Stabler role, pales dramatically in comparison to her chemistry with Kim Harris\u2019 ADA Gretchen McGrath. There is much silliness from Matthew Hornell, Steve Cutler and Cheryl Hann in the supporting roles and a fun cameo from Tanya Davis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I would love to see this concept take the leap from pure gimmick to pastiche, perhaps with the help of some more experienced musical theatre artists, but in the meantime, <em>Law &amp; Order: Musical Victims Unit<\/em> is a bit of a bumpy ride, but with some genuinely likeable moments and a lot of theatrical joy that made me smile.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>TWISI Rating:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.twisitheatreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/3-of-5-stars.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1997\" alt=\"3 of 5 stars\" src=\"https:\/\/www.twisitheatreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/3-of-5-stars.jpg\" width=\"235\" height=\"54\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Law &amp; Order: Musical Victims Unit<\/em> plays at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artgalleryofnovascotia.ca\/en\/AGNS_Halifax\/default.aspx\">Art Gallery of Nova Scotia <\/a>(1723 Hollis Street) at the following times:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Wed Sep 4 10:10pm<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Thu Sep 5 9:40pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Tickets are $10.00 and are available in advance online\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/atlanticfringefest.eventbrite.com\/\">at this website<\/a>\u00a0or 30 minutes before each show at the venue on the day of the performance.
