TWISI is primarily based in Mi'kma'ki, the unceded ancestral homeland of the Mi’kmaq. As a descendant of Scottish, British, Acadian, and Irish settlers I feel grateful to be able to call this beautiful land my home. As settlers it is important that we move forward in the spirit of peace and friendship that was promised in the treaties signed here between 1725-1779 and to commit ourselves to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action.
